Torpedo Bay™ is a location-based naval battle game that uses either GPS or Assisted-GPS technology in your phone to locate health and ammo around you then mount the high seas and battle for your very survival. Location availability is dependant on where you are and usually works better in areas where you have good clear view of the sky. On some phones, you must set your GPS Privacy setting to Unrestricted each time prior to playing. If location is unavailable, try again in another open area. Check for the  symbol in the top right of the SCANNING screen. This symbol is present if your phone is receiving satellite signals. If you continue to have difficulty getting a location fix, please visit your local carrier’s website to ensure that you are in a location coverage area and check to make sure that location services are enabled on your phone. You may also try cycling the power on your phone to reset the GPS. |

Start Play |

Select “New Game”. If this is the first time you have played, you will be asked to enter an alias of up to five characters. This alias will allow you to track your scores and rank you among your fellow players on the Torpedo Bay™ website. The game will begin by flashing “SCANNING” for anywhere from a few seconds to 30 seconds depending on the quality of the GPS signal. If a GPS location is obtained, the navigation screen will load. A top-down view of a map with boats, ammo and health on it. If no GPS location is obtained, the phone will prompt you to retry.

Navigation |

Once you get a location fix, the navigation screen will load, displaying a top-down view of a map with ships, health and ammo located on it. You can keep the map view to help navigate to your preferred ship, health or ammo or you can use the MENU key to select an ocean view background. You can also use the arrow keys on your joystick key to highlight objects to get navigation instructions on how to reach them. Follow the navigation assistance instructions or map, move to the object, then scan again to gather the ammo or health or, if you are ready, just enter the battle arena by pressing PLAY.

Torpedo Bay™ offers a unique 360 deg view of the ocean world around you. Your phone’s screen is a window into this world.
Click on the screen on the left for a preview.
Scan the horizon using your phone’s joystick “<” and “>” keys to place your enemy’s ship in view. Use the “OK” button to activate and set the firing parameters for your torpedo and fire away. Depending on the size of ship and your aim, you may need several hits to sink the enemy. Be careful, while you are firing at them, they are firing back at you. Points are awarded for each hit and ship you sink. You lose health for every hit you take. If you are cunning and quick and eliminate your enemies, you may be promoted to the next rank. Scanning again locates other nearby ships, enemies, and ammo.

Game Over |
|
Once your health reaches zero, you will have the option to continue playing or returning to the main menu. Selecting CONTINUE will enter you back into the same ocean with the same ammo with the same enemy ships. Your health however will be at a minimum level, so be sure to move and collect more health to increase your ability to survive. |

High Scores |
|
Throughout the course of the game, your score is posted to the Torpedo Bay™ high scores leaderboard. Anytime you are on the web, you can visit the high scores webpage and check out your standing, score, and level rank against other Torpedo Bay™ players around the country.
