STEVE PALLEY REPORTS Steve Palley reports: Canadian GPS games, SonyEricsson's new stuff, Great Games in 50K, (M)Forma, Game Design Roundtable, Dinner with Morpheme/Argonaut ... I expected my day of arrival to be slower from a reporting standpoint. I couldn t have been more wrong, as I spent virtually every minute of the day madly scribbling notes and passing out business cards. Among my first card recipients were Stephen Nykolyn and Paul Poutanen of Blister Entertainment, a Canadian developer that has developed a nifty fishing title that uses GPS as part of gameplay in essence, the game keeps tabs on your physical movements on an overhead map, which also displays the location of the fish. Unfortunately, the GPS portion of the game isn't yet available for testing in the U.S., due to our limited handset and carrier technology. ... Source: Wgames March 2004 |
